How do I find my filter size?

  1. 1
    Turn off the furnace and remove the filter

    It sits behind the access door or in the slot of the cabinet, near the blower.

  2. 2
    Read the numbers on the frame

    The size is printed on the side: width × height × thickness, in inches (e.g. 16 x 25 x 1).

  3. 3
    Nothing printed? Measure and round up

    A filter is slightly smaller than its nominal size: a 16 x 25 x 1 actually measures about 15 ½ × 24 ½ × ¾ in. Round each measurement up to the next inch.

5-inch filters: dimensions vary from one brand to another. Go by the model number printed on the filter or on the cabinet (Honeywell, White Rodgers…).

Maintenance

When should you change your filter?

A clogged filter makes your system work harder and lets dust through. As a general rule:

1 inEvery 1 to 3 months

A box of 12 lasts at least a year, even if you change the filter every month.

2 inEvery 3 months

The right pace for most homes.

4 and 5 inEvery 6 to 12 months

More filtering surface means a longer life.

Change it more often if you have pets, allergies or renovations underway at home.

Is shipping really free?

Yes, filters are shipped free of charge anywhere in Québec, via Canada Post or FedEx. You can also pick them up at our warehouse in Saint-Eustache: we'll contact you as soon as your order is ready.

How soon will I receive my order?

In-stock items ship within 24 hours. Delivery time then depends on your address. Shipping details

How many filters are in a box?

1- and 2-inch filters come in boxes of 12, 4-inch in boxes of 6 and 5-inch in boxes of 3. The exact quantity is shown on each product page.

Which MERV rating should I choose?

MERV 8 offers the best balance between filtration and airflow for the vast majority of residential systems: it captures dust, pollen and pet hair without choking your furnace.

I ordered the wrong size. Can I return my box?

Yes, an unopened box in its original packaging can be returned within 30 days of purchase, with your proof of purchase. Return policy
